Celebrated my homeboy’s birthday earlier! I took Derek on a picnic to a cute, little park and fed him his favorite dessert, cannolis! It was so much fun! He doesn’t really care about his birthday, but I’m gonna make sure it’s special for him every year because I’m so happy he was born :3. Then we headed back to my place because the second part of his birthday surprise was to make custom paint dipped keycaps for his crazy colorful keyboard, but I don’t think he really liked it. He’s not an arts ‘n crafts kinda dude anyway. I don’t mind; I actually ended up making a few later in the night after he went to sleep just for fun hehe.
He was really psyched to show me how to do some programming though. I had a (admittedly simple) idea for an app I wanted to make, and he was so psyched to do it with me. He was teaching me all the basics of code and computer logic while working on this project without making it too difficult or frustrating. IT WAS SO GREAT :). He’s such a good teacher too!!! I picked it up really fast. It made me 100x more excited to start my coding class!!
We only got halfway through developing the app, when my new roommate came in to take a look around my place. She’s great, she stayed over and talked with us for like an hour and a half. I can’t believe how I’ve lucked out. Derek was convinced it would be impossible to find someone who wanted to room for just a couple months. But she literally needs to move home as soon as Derek promised to move in. Also, her internship is within a mile of my place. WHAT ARE THE FREAKIN’ CHANCES. Needless to say, we agreed to live together hahaha.
I can’t wait to see what’s coming next. Bring it on, life.
